Saddle Gun

Log Item: It's one thing to own a Ducati Diavel, and it's another to be able to find the perfect saddle gun to mount on behind just because. First off, since the Ducati is black, the weapon must also be black in order to keep the theme going strong.

AR's are nice, but they don't quite send the right statement since EVERYONE seems to be strapping AR's onto their motorcycles. It must be legal. Moreover, it must be small enough to fit on the machine in such a way as to not cause a problem. Yes, I saw Terminator 2 with the lever action shotgun. Who didn't love THAT? But it's been done.

The Black Aces 10+1 twelve gauge would seem to be the perfect solution! (check out the home page) The magazine capacity of 10 doesn't offend sensibilities in California and ten rounds of 00 buck or ten rifled slugs does send a message.

All there is to do now is to add it to the accessories must-have list.

  1. How about going retro?

Simply mount a .50 cal back there where you got all that engineering going on for passenger footpegs, etc. Once mounted, you got yourself a two wheel version of the iconic war machine in 'Rat Patrol.'

    1. I hadn't thought about the M-2 option...but I LIKE IT!

I'm genuinely serious about mounting the shotgun, for trips and such. The problem with the Ducati is that it's so spare that there really isn't any practical place to put it. I may simply default back to the .45 Kimber and leave it at that.

  2. Seems to me that mounting any kind of firearm would attract the CHP in a big way. And I'm talking about the BAD kind of attraction.

    1. I haven't been on the CA highways and bi-ways for almost three decades, but 'devil-may-care' CHPs were non-existent back in my day. Those guys had serious 'tudes and would slap you upside the head with a night stick just for not saying 'yes, officer' fast enough.

  3. Hmmm... Rubber coated dowel that fits in the barrel mounted up near the cooler, a police style clamp mounted to the frame just below and in front of the seat maybe to that frame bolt?
